As apprised in my previous blog that Google is in the process of developing its Apps for online services where the third party developers would sell their apps which would integrate with the Google apps. Recently, the Apps Marketplace was officially announced by Google. It is looked as expansion of the Google Solutions Marketplace, a store of business apps.
It is made possible from the protocols like OAuth, OpenID and application programming interfaces. The procedure is that Google users can log into the third party apps through Google and can access to the data they desire.
According to the company insiders, the search engine is also introducing features like a “contextual gadget” which would embed in Gmail. This helps the Gmail users to receive widgets into their mail boxes. Google insiders gave the signal to bring open marketplace with basic screening process charging one-time fee $100. It is also rating and reviews to deliver best apps to its users.
It is rumored that Google would collect 20 percent of the revenues earned by third-party developers.
